Knowing his love for stationeries, we went stationery shopping again today. He bought me exam grade pens, and he was busy playing with his pen and testing out the ink. Then he suddenly decided to paste a piece of sticky note on my leg.

As much as i want to find the words to describe how much i love him, i think it’s impossible. And look at that cute note – “To my baby, I love my baby. From, your baby.“

I believe in positive thoughts, positive thoughts encourage positive things to happen. And he happened.

Brief updates on CNY.

So Chinese New Year has been a really sinful and lazy holiday. Well spent with the family, the boyfriend and some friends. Most of all whom are willing to go through shit loads of traffic to meet up to have a relaxing night out.

I’ve never really understood why people flock in Penang when there are other cities in the country that they can go to. And cause massive traffic congestions in this small little island with drivers that drive around like they’re in video games; basically, they drive without a care in the world about what’s around them.

A new addition to my garden for one night.

Drinks with my sister, her boyfriend, Jonathan, and my boyfriend, Jonathan. Haha.

The holidays when everyone's home. So i've spent quite some time just bumming around at Jonathan's place and watching tv with him, Lavender & Taofu

Took the effort to get dressed up for the Chinese New Year, also the first time introducing Jonathan to those who were present; my 11 cousins, 6 aunties, 5 uncles and most importantly, my grandmama.

This is the right way to take self shots!

So yes, Chinese New Year summarized in my point of view:

Spent crazy amounts of money on fireworks (including the ones for my birthday), had alcohol offered by my parents (which is a bit shocking, since they don’t like me drinking), attended about a gazillion dinners in which i was introduced to Jon’s 3823923 family members and introduced Jon to my 32789423 family members as well, met up with friends that came back from overseas, committed to not overeating and running EVERYDAY, still see Jon everyday since the day he got back and i’m not even anywhere near to being bored of seeing him, got angpaos that summed up to more than 3k MYR (happiness overload), still working on CNY, shopped online for EVERY single attire i wore for CNY.

And i took some time to bedazzle my Starbucks planner. #likeaboss

So hello, this year has been good to me so far. I can’t even begin to describe how much money i’ve gotten from all the angpow’s i collected. And to top that, i met Jonathan’s ENTIRE family – his grandpapa (who was lovely and reminded me of how much i’d love to have a grandpapa), his aunts, uncles, cousins, cousin’s children and friends. All of them were so warm and welcoming that i felt like tearing because i’ve never been to such a united gathering with my grandpapa around. So for that, thank you, love!

So here’s to all the ups and downs. And all the times we’ve been together. We’re reunited, once again. And those years without you, i guess i was one very messed up child. When you came into my life again; everything changed. I finally realized there was more to life than just boozing and taking revenge on myself for the things i couldn’t accomplish. And that there’s a light at the end of every tunnel, you, my love. You’re my light.

So yes, here’s to a brand new year and many more adventures to come.

Ushering the year of the Dragon.

Hello everyone! Happy Chinese New Year and i hope all of you will spend as much time as you can with your loved ones, it’s what Chinese New Year is all about, no? Everyone in the family comes back and reunites for this one special celebration of the year and this is when bonding really matters. So people out there, if you’re not able to be with your family – call them or video call them! Texting doesn’t show sincerity, especially when it’s your loved ones that’s involved!

What i love most about new year, aside from the “ang pao” (red packets) would definitely be the moments that everyone spends together. The time of the year that grandmama makes the yummiest food in the world! And the best part about this all is that she feels happy when she sees us enjoy the food she makes! And not to mention, the one time of the year when my sister will be back from Melbourne and we’ll have our own little steamboat at home with my parents and my baby brother.

I’d always like to keep in mind that as we grow up, our parents are also growing older. And spending truly happy moments together – that’s what matter most.

And this year came in as a bonus! Because my aunt made some really pretty coy fish shaped jelly in the most amazing colours a day before Chinese New Year! And also because i bought some Eu Yan Sang goodies for my boyfriend and his family, and he kept to his words and brought over some really, really amazing layered cake that my whole family loves.

So i’m prepared for a whole week of sinful eating habits and quality time with everyone before we go back to our crazy routines. And Happy Chinese New Year to all! <3

Diary of a cat in distress:

Sometimes i don’t understand why these huge furless creatures keep disturbing me when i’m sleeping. It’s not like they know how hard a cat parties overnight! I wish they’d stop disturbing me and let me sleep wherever i want to. I will knock down any other furless object that is in my way, i don’t even see the point of putting them in my sleeping spot – which is anywhere that’s everywhere. I do like to maul any furry thing that is smaller than me just for the sake of doing so.

They keep tempting me with this furry flying mouse attached on a string. Why can’t they do it during midnight when i’m the most active?! I want to sleep in peace but they just don’t get it. And in the midst of trying to tempt me to maul the furry flying mouse, they keep using their weird looking dislocated paws to tap me on my back. Stupid furless creatures, leave me be will you?!

13 days of 2012, and what i’ve been up to:

Worked out every morning and didn't skip a single breakfast unless it's my resting day.

Realized that Vicki's phone & earphones matched my nails.

Got Cleo the lemur as a present from Singapore (from Der Thongster & Quinn)

Took a failed selfshot while waiting for Jonathan to come over.

Realized i have more than 5 new plushies in 1 month. :"

Finally not too lazy to slap on some make up and leave the house for a good night out with Jonathan.

Since i am so uninspired lately, this should be a sufficient enough bribe.

Easier said than done.

All we really ever want is to be recognized, to be appreciated and to be treated the way we treat others. And sometimes, you don’t always get it all.

And sometimes, you do get the things you want. But it’ll always become the thing you got, because it fades away. Just like all these little things that i pay attention to. It all fades away, eventually. And it all shows that the familiarity is taking its toll on me – that everything is just falling into routine, that maybe, maybe we don’t have it all. Not anymore.

“Stay strong,” “You’ll be fine,” “Everything will be okay,” – these are all the words that can be used to console one. But what are they? Nothing more than just mere words spoken out of sympathy. And it’s always easier said than done. To feel okay, to be okay; it’s always easier said than done.

Firstly, Lavender Loves. It’s an online boutique i’ve always dreamed of having. Since i have the opportunity to go abroad pretty frequently, i figured that i should share the love of what i can lay hands on in every country that i go to and pick out only the ones that I, myself, would purchase and wear.

And to top that, i think everyone enjoys getting things for cheaper prices, yes? I’ve been pulling some strings and getting to know a lot of people from many different countries and in time, i got to know some really great owners that would give me better rates on the products that i will be selling in this online boutique. So all i’m asking is just for a tiny bit of support to spread the word and let people know about Lavender Loves. So i took some time to work on the layout and the system of how this whole online boutique works.

And i started out the business by selling accessories that i got from my recent trips a couple of months back and also some handmade goodies.

It’s not a very grand online boutique, but i can assure you it’s really just out of passion and interest in fashion. And regarding the extra pocket money – i don’t actually get that much. So none of you have to worry about getting ripped off. Rest assured.

Secondly, Jonathan’s blog. He’s been in love with music & writing since i first got to know him when i was 12 (and i’m sure he started learning way before then). His love for music and writing (especially writing) is beyond words. And his love for photography, that developed somewhere in between his early teen years.

He now has a blog that is revamped and just by visiting it, you’ll know his passion for photography is more than just any silly teenager that owns a fancy camera. CLICK HERE.

I’m not promoting this because i’m biased or because he’s my boyfriend. But i’m doing this because i know how much recognition he deserves for his passion towards all these simple little things.

I’ve always complained about how he never takes any pictures of me in colour because i want my clothes to stand out (as every girl does), but i learned that through a b&w picture, you actually see it with so much more meaning than just a piece of photograph.

He spent almost a gazillion hours working on his blog layout because he's a perfectionist like that.

And there are so many more of the pictures he took that should be appreciated.
